A bespoke online shop for students and teachers
A bespoke online shop for students and teachers
An ageing website turned into an online shop for digital teaching resources, books and magazines, with separate accounts for students and teachers.
01 How I work
Shopify, WooCommerce or something fully custom - the right choice depends on your business. We'll talk through how you sell, what you need to manage day to day and where you want to grow, then decide what to build on.
Some businesses need a whole new site built to sell online. Others already have a site they love and just need a shop added. Either works - I'll fit the approach around what you've already got, so we're not starting from scratch for the sake of it.
Products, categories, payment methods and shipping rules - the groundwork that makes a shop actually work. I set it up carefully, so once it's live, running it day to day is straightforward.
Before anyone can buy from you, I test the whole journey - browsing, checkout, payments and confirmation emails - so nothing breaks when it matters most.
I'll show you how to manage your shop - adding products, processing orders and anything else you'll do regularly - so you can run it yourself without waiting on me.
An online shop usually needs more looking after than a standard website - new products, seasonal updates, platform updates. That's why I'd recommend a care plan, which we can talk about once you're live.

03 Getting started
What you're selling, how you sell it now, and what you actually need your shop to do.
One page: scope, price, dates. Nothing starts until you've said yes to it.
Setting up products, payments, and shipping - plus the platform work underneath it, done properly so it holds up once it's live.
I test the whole buying journey before anyone else does, then walk you through managing products and orders yourself.

Whatever actually fits your business. Shopify, WooCommerce, or something fully custom. We'll talk through how you sell and what you need before deciding.
Both are possible. If your current site can support it, I'll add a shop on - if not, we'll talk about what a rebuild would involve.
Yes, usually - depending on how the shop is integrated. Training is part of the process, so you're confident adding products and processing orders without needing me for every change.
Adding a shop to your existing website starts from £750, and a fully bespoke online shop starts from £2,400. I charge £30 an hour, and you'll get a fixed price once we've agreed what's needed.
It genuinely depends on the platform and scope. A Shopify bolt-on is a lot quicker than a bespoke build, so I'll give you a real timeline once we've scoped it, but I usually advise 6 to 8 weeks from project start to end.
A couple of lines is plenty. I reply to everything within a working day, even if the answer is “I'm not the right fit”.
