A bespoke online shop for students and teachers
An ageing website turned into an online shop for digital teaching resources, books and magazines, with separate accounts for students and teachers.
01 Why Derby businesses call me
No account manager, no handover to a junior. The person you speak to is the person building it.
You'll see your site every week on a live link and can comment straight on the page. Most projects never need an in-person meeting, though Derby's close enough if you'd like one.
You'll have the scope, price and dates on one page before anything starts, worked out at £30 an hour. It doesn't move unless you change what you asked for.
Fast, well-structured pages and your Google Business Profile set up properly, so people searching in Derby and across Derbyshire can actually find you.
Domain, files, accounts and logins are in your name from day one, even if you leave.
Once your site's live, I don't disappear. If something breaks or you need a hand with an update, you've still got my number.
02 Services
Most projects use two or three of these together - I'll tell you which ones you actually need.
A design that looks like your business, not a template with your logo dropped in.
Built by hand, so it's fast, works on every device and is easy for you to update.
A logo, colours and fonts that work together, so your business looks the same from your shop front to your website.
Online shops that are simple for customers to buy from, and simple for you to run.
Helping the right people find you on Google, with reports that actually make sense.
Hosting, updates, backups and small changes, so it's one less thing to think about.
Checking your site works for everyone, including people using screen readers or keyboards - and fixing it if it doesn't.
03 Selected work
A few recent projects, with what each business needed and how I went about it.

Thoughtful design for a sustainable fashion marketplace
Designing an ecommerce website for a sustainable fashion marketplace, making it easy to shop while showing what makes each piece sustainable.
A professional website for a professional golf coach
A modern WordPress website for golf coach Sarah, showing off her coaching services, skills and qualifications, and making it easy to get in touch.
04 Prices
I'd rather give you real numbers than a "get in touch for a quote". Every project gets a fixed price before any work starts.
from £600
from £1,200
from £2,400
05 How It Goes
Half an hour on a call. What the business needs, what's in the way, what you can spend. Free, and no pitch deck.
One page: scope, price, dates. If it's more than you expected, we cut scope rather than corners.
You see it every week on a live link. Comments go straight on the page. Nothing gets built in secret.
I press the button, watch it for a fortnight, and show you how to run it. Then I'm around when you need me.
06 Straight answers
Anything missing? Ask me directly and I'll give you a straight answer, not a sales one.
Yes. I'm based in Grantham, about an hour away along the A52, and work with businesses across Derby and Derbyshire, as well as the rest of the UK.
Yes. These sites often need to explain technical products or services to people who aren't engineers, while still giving buyers the detail they're looking for. I'll help you get that balance right, and make it easy for people to get a quote.
Most of the work happens over calls and email, but Derby's only about an hour away. If meeting face to face matters to you, let me know and we'll sort something out.
One-page sites start from £600, full sites from £1,200, and custom builds or online shops from £2,400. You'll get a fixed price before anything starts. See my full pricing for what's included.
Usually, yes. I'll take a look at what you've got first and tell you honestly whether it needs a full rebuild or just a few fixes. If you're on the fence, this post might help.
A couple of lines is plenty. I reply to everything within a working day, even if the answer is “I'm not the right fit”.
