WordPress support and fixes

Site broken after an update? Running slow? Or has the person who built it gone quiet? I fix WordPress problems, speed up slow sites and take on sites other people built, so you've got someone to call when something goes wrong.

£30 an hour agreed before I start
Sites I didn't build picked up and sorted
Care plans from £75 if you want it kept that way

01 Common problems

Sound familiar?

Most WordPress sites that need help have one of a handful of problems. None of them are as bad as they look.

When I'd suggest something else
  • The site's so old or patched together that fixing it would cost more than a rebuild - I'll tell you if that's the case
  • You only need hosting and never want changes - a good managed WordPress host might be all you need

04 Getting started

Four steps to get it sorted

Day 0

Tell me what's wrong

A few lines or a quick call. What's happening, when it started, and which logins you've got.

Within 48hrs

A look & a quote

I'll take a look and tell you what I think's wrong, how long it'll take and what it'll cost.

The fix

Sorted properly

Done on a copy of your site wherever possible, so your live site stays up while I work on it.

Afterwards

Keep it that way

I'll explain what happened and how to avoid it. If you'd like, I can look after it from then on with a care plan.

05 Straight answers

About WordPress support.

Anything missing? Ask me directly and I'll give you a straight answer, not a sales one.

Can you fix a WordPress site someone else built?

Yes - that's what this page is all about. I'll take a look first and let you know honestly what it needs before you pay for anything.

How much does WordPress support cost?

£30 an hour, with the price agreed before I start, and plenty of fixes only take an hour or two. If you'd rather have someone on hand every month, care plans start from £75 a month and include two hours of changes.

My site's built with Elementor or Divi. Can you still help?

Yes. I don't use page builders for new sites, as they tend to make them slower and harder to look after, but I'll happily fix what you've got. If it's causing more problems than it solves, I'll tell you.

What do you need from me?

Ideally a WordPress admin login and access to your hosting. If you're not sure what you've got or where the logins are, that's fine - I can help you track them down.

Do I need to be on a care plan?

No, one-off fixes are fine. A care plan just means updates, backups and small changes are taken care of every month, so problems are less likely to happen in the first place.

Should I fix my site or start again?

It depends how old it is and how it's been built. Sometimes a few fixes will keep it going for years, and sometimes you'd be paying to patch something that'll keep breaking. I'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at. If you're weighing it up, this post might help.

Tell me what's wrong with your site.

A couple of lines is plenty. I reply to everything within a working day, even if the answer is “I'm not the right fit”.
